When will I receive my IRS tax refund?

In any of the United States, the Social Security Administration sends out retirement pension checks every month. These Social Security payments may arrive on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of each month. In this sense, controlling the day of payment is easy because we only need to know one piece of personal information. With the day of birth of each person we have enough information to determine which day of the month we will receive the benefit.

Social Security retirement checks in the United States can be for different groups of people. A retiree is not necessarily a person who is 62 years old. There are more types of retirees who can receive this Social Security pension. On the one hand, we have age-based retirees. On the other hand, we also have those who are retired due to disability or widowhood. In this order of things, there is also a pension for children.

Regardless of the reason for which an American citizen has his pension, the day of collection is the same. Therefore, depending on the day of the birthday we will know which is the Wednesday of the month in which we will have our check available. It is an easy, fast and very convenient method. However, not all retirees receive their benefits on the same day that Social Security sends them. In order to receive the check immediately, it is mandatory to have a specific collection method activated.

Who receives the next Social Security benefit?

The following Social Security check will be the fourth Wednesday of the month. This day is today, the 25th of January. Please note that only one group of retirees can cash their Social Security benefit check today. This group receives the check today if they have Direct Deposit activated. The reason for retirement does not matter. What matters in this case is the retiree’s birthday.

Now that we know the day, it is time to know the group of retirees who will receive their benefit. To be exact, only retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month will have access to the pension payment on this 18th day of January. But it does not matter the month of birth, only the day. Thus, a pensioner born in January can collect the benefit in any month of the year.

How to collect the retirement benefit quickly?

There are two main methods for collecting Social Security benefits. It is currently impossible to cash the check in physical form by mail. These are the two ways to cash the benefit.

  • Direct Deposit.
  • Deposit into a bank account.

The major advantage of collecting through Direct Deposit is that the retiree receives the money immediately. As soon as Social Security sends it, the check appears and is available. On the other hand, if a retiree chooses bank deposit, it may take up to 3 days for the money to appear in the account.

Whatever collection method you choose, don’t worry, as you will still receive the payment from Social Security and will be able to use it within a few days. One of the best things about the Administration is that it always pays pensions on time and without delays.

So retirees with Direct Deposit and their birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month can enjoy a new cheque today to pay their bills, groceries and any other monthly expenses they have.

Other Social Security Payments in January 2023

In addition to this payment, the Social Security Administration sends other different payments within the month of January. These are the days of the January 2023 payments for retirement, disability, and widow’s and widower’s pensions.

  • January 11. First Social Security pension payment.
  • January 18. Second SSA benefit payment. This one is the next payment.
  • January 25. 3rd and final payment from Social Security in January 2023.

To receive payment on one of these days you only have to meet two requirements. The first requirement is to have the benefit accepted. The second requirement is to have your birthday on a certain date. For the second Wednesday of the month, between the 1st and 10th. On the third Wednesday of the month, retirees born between the 11th and 20th receive the money. Finally, on the fourth Wednesday of the month, retirees born between the 21st and 31st of any month receive Social Security.

Different SSA Payments

In addition to payments for disability, retirement and other reasons, the Social Security Administration also sends out Supplemental Security Income (SSI). With this payment, the SSA gives less well-off citizens a check to help pay the bills. It should also be noted that not all retirees are eligible for this check.

SSI payment day is always the 1st of the month, with some exceptions. If the 1st of the month is a weekend or holiday, the payment is sent on the immediately preceding business day. In this way, the Social Security Administration ensures that all beneficiaries receive their checks on time.

We recall that the U.S. Social Security Administration is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that administers Social Security, which administers the Social Security program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivor benefits.

Can I receive SSI and a retirement pension at the same time?

Social Security checks can belong to two different benefits. The first of these is the retirement pension. The second of these benefits is related to Supplemental Security Income. While the first is available to all U.S. citizens, the second is more limited.

However, it is possible to receive both benefits at the same time. However, for age-based retirees, SSI requires you to be at least 65 years old to apply for it. Still, you can always use the Best Tool platform to find out what benefits you can get to receive the monthly check.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these payments are never made on the same day. Each of these checks has a different cashing day. While the Social Security check depends on the day of birth, the SSI check does not. All SSI recipients receive their checks on the same day.

Next Social Security Payments

The next of the Social Security payments is the last one sent by the Administration in January 2023. Thereafter, retirees will have to wait until the following month to receive a new cheque.

The next SSA check will be in February 2023. The collection days for this month are the second, third and fourth Wednesdays, as is customary in these cases. Therefore, the exact days in the month of February will be the 8th, 15th and 22nd of the month. The day on which each retiree receives his or her Social Security benefit will depend on his or her birthday.
