Social Security checks in the United States of America have a fixed schedule for their beneficiaries. Each of these users can collect their Social Security benefit on different days. Thus, the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month are the different days on which an SSA beneficiary can collect his or her retirement check.
The fundamental data to know the group to which each retiree belongs is linked to the date of birth. Therefore, in order to know which day we will receive our Social Security retirement benefit, we must know to which group we belong. In this order of things it does not matter what type of retirement we have.
Many pensioners think that depending on the type of pension they receive, they will receive one Wednesday of the month or another. But this is not so. It does not matter if we receive the Social Security check for retirement, disability, widowhood or any other reason. The only important thing in this case is to have an accepted benefit. Are you in the group of the next retirees to collect the benefit?
Which group of seniors collect the next Social Security?
Users who were born between the 21st and 31st of the month receive their Social Security check on the next payday. This is the 25th of January. Therefore, next Wednesday, retirees born between the days mentioned above will have the new amount for the month of January in their pockets.
This is the last payment of the Social Security in January. This means that the rest of the retirees should already have the check in their bank account. These are the other days when retirees received their money in January:
- Jan. 11. Retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month cashed their Social Security check.
- Jan. 18. SSA sent the check this day to retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Jan. 25. Next and last payment this January 2023. Users with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month will receive their check on this day.
Keep in mind that the only thing that matters is the day of the birthday. It is not necessary for the month of birth to coincide with the month of collection. So retirees born in January can collect benefits for January, October and all other months.
What other payments does the SSA send?
In addition to the Social Security retirement payment, the Administration also sends other different checks to United States citizens. The other most important check is the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check. This check is only for the neediest citizens. If we want to know if we can receive this SSI it is only necessary to check it through the Best Tool application.
These payments are always made on the 1st of each month, except when that day is a holiday or weekend. In January we had this exceptional condition, so Social Security sent the check on the 30th day of December 2022.
This will occur in months where the 1st day is a weekend or holiday, as is the case in January 2023. In the next months that we see this condition, we should note that the SSA will send the check on the immediately preceding business day.
