Payments from the United States Social Security Administration are sent each month to retirees. If you collect money from SSA payments, you will soon receive your benefit. If you retired at age 67, you will also get a good amount of money. The average is $1,657 per month, but by applying for Full Age Retirement at age 67, your check will most likely be larger.
So, it doesn’t matter what age you retire, but it does matter what day you were born. If you are 67 and your birthday is between the 1st and 10th of the month, in a very short time you will be able to enjoy your Social Security retirement pay. In the month of September there are 3 different benefit payment days and people with a birthday in the first 10 days are the first to collect.
Social Security payday for retirees of 67 years of age
As we have already commented previously, age does not matter so much in terms of the day of payment. It is not the main important thing to get Social Security every month. It does influence the amount of the monthly check, especially if you have worked for many years. What is really important is the day of your birthday to know when you will receive your money in September. The payment schedule is as follows:
- Second Wednesday in September, day 14: This is the day for people born between the 1st and 10th. If you were born between these days, your Social Security is sent on this day.
- Third Wednesday in September, the 21st: On this day, Americans with birthdays between the 11th and 20th receive their retirement benefits.
- Fourth Wednesday in September, the 28th: The Social Security Administration sends the benefit to people born between the 21st and 31st.
