Social Security – New SSI 2023 payment of $914 in just 24 hours

67-year-old retirees will receive their first Social Security paychecks in February 2023

Millions of retirees in the United States will receive a new Social Security payment in just one week. This payment will reach the bank accounts of beneficiaries who meet a fundamental requirement. Despite this, it should also be noted that this is the last payment of the year for this group. Therefore, Social Security has no further payments on its calendar apart from the next check mailing on December 28. If you have not yet received your payment from SSA, you may receive it next week.

To check the day you might receive your payment you will only need to check your date of birth. With this information it is easy to recognize the day of the month on which each retiree receives his or her pension check. Remember that Social Security always sends payments on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. So you can prepare to receive your check on one of these days.

Before the end of the year, the vast majority of retirees will have their Social Security money.  The last of the payments is on the fourth Wednesday of the month, that is, the 28th day of December, as we have previously discussed.

Therefore, this means that the rest of the retirees have already received their benefit money. At least that is what should have happened in theory. There may be some delays, but this usually happens in very specific cases. The important fact to remember is that the last of the payments is next week, so if you belong to the third group of retirees you should pay attention.

Who receives the last Social Security payment of the year?

The Social Security Administration will send the last payment of benefits next December 28th to people who meet the following requirements:

  • 1st Have an old-age or disability retirement benefit previously accepted by the SSA.
  • 2º Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Regarding the birthday, it is important to note that it is not necessary to be born in December to receive the December check. Retirees born in January, February or July receive the Social Security check in every month of the year.

If we want to receive the check immediately, it is mandatory to have Direct Deposit. Through the bank account we can also receive the Social Security check, but it will take up to 3 days to reach our pocket.

The method of receipt is totally optional and we can choose any of the two mentioned above. However, we must remember that one of them is faster than the other to collect the Social Security.
