Millions of retirees in the United States will receive a new Social Security payment in just one week. This payment will reach the bank accounts of beneficiaries who meet a fundamental requirement. Who receives the last Social Security payment of the year?
The Social Security Administration will send the last payment of benefits next December 28th to people who meet the following requirements:
- 1st Have an old-age or disability retirement benefit previously accepted by the SSA.
- 2º Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Regarding the birthday, it is important to note that it is not necessary to be born in December to receive the December check. Retirees born in January, February or July receive the Social Security check in every month of the year.
If we want to receive the check immediately, it is mandatory to have Direct Deposit. Through the bank account we can also receive the Social Security check, but it will take up to 3 days to reach our pocket.
The method of receipt is totally optional and we can choose any of the two mentioned above. However, we must remember that one of them is faster than the other to collect the Social Security.
