The United States Social Security Administration’s schedule of payments is announced before the beginning of the year. The pattern for retirement, disability or blindness benefit payments is always the same. It repeats itself year after year and it is easy to know the dates of the payments well. When you know the dates for one year you can know the dates for the following year. Even so, you should take a good look at the Social Security Administration’s official calendar every year to avoid making mistakes.
If you have already started collecting your Social Security benefit because you have received your Award Letter and have completed the entire process, the calendar is of interest to you. And this calendar is the same for people with retirement, blindness or disability benefits.
Regardless of the type of access to the benefit you have, you will receive it on the same day. The main thing to know about this is your birthday. People born within the first ten days collect on one date. On the other hand, people born between the 11th and 20th collect later. Finally, users who celebrate their birthday between the 21st and 31st are the last to collect the benefit.
Calendar for collecting the retirement pension payment
The Social Security Administration sets the retirement payment schedule according to the beneficiaries’ birthdays. Therefore, not everyone who receives a retirement benefit has the money in their bank account on the same day. By knowing your birthday you will know the date the SSA will send you your retirement money each month.
For 2022, retirement payments are made on the following days of the month:
- January: 12, 19, and 28.
- February: 9, 16 and 23.
- March: 9, 16 and 23.
- April: 13, 20, 27.
- May: 11, 18 and 25.
- June: 8, 15 and 22.
- July: 13, 20 and 27.
- August: 10, 17 and 24.
- September: 14, 21 and 28.
- October: 12, 19 and 26.
- November: 9, 16 and 23.
- December: 14, 21 and 28.
These are the days on which Social Security sends the money. All of these days are Wednesdays. Each Wednesday belongs to a different group of people. Each group is organized according to their birthday, as mentioned above. Thus, people born between the 1st and 10th receive the benefit on the second Wednesday of each month. The third Wednesday of each month corresponds to birthdays between the 11th and 20th. Finally, the fourth Wednesday of the month is for people with birthdays between the 21st and 31st.
