In the United States, the Social Security payment schedule is announced every year. For that reason it is already possible to know the September payment for retirees aged 62. In addition to this group, other older retirees will be able to collect the benefit, as well as disability pensioners. Any Social Security beneficiary will be able to collect the benefit within two weeks, but with one condition.
The only requirement you must meet, in addition to already being a Social Security benefit recipient, is that your birthday be between the 1st and 10th of the month. By this we do not mean that your birthday is also in September. It doesn’t matter what month you were born in, the only important thing in this context is the day of the month.
Who gets the first Social Security in September?
Other than Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the first Social Security payment in September is for a specific group of people. That group is retirees born between the 1st and 10th of each month. If you were born between those days, you will have your benefit in your bank account on September 14.
The rest of the people will receive their benefits in the following weeks. Every new Wednesday, the Social Security Administration sends the money to retirees. Thus, the third and fourth Wednesdays are the days chosen for this procedure. It is easy to know when you will receive your retirement benefit if you keep these details in mind.
On the other hand, in the case of Supplemental Security Income payments, the dates are different. These payments are always made on the 1st of each month, unless it is a holiday or weekend. Since September 1 is a working day, the Social Security Administration will send the money on that day without any delays or problems. Therefore, if you are entitled to SSI and your birthday is between the 1st and 10th, you should be able to collect both benefits in a very short time.

- Fourth Wednesday of the month: 23rd.
December
- Second Wednesday of the month: 14th
- Third Wednesday of the month: 21st.
- Fourth Wednesday of the month: 28th.
