Social Security announces the new calendar payment for April

Who receives the $4,555 payment on April 3?

Millions of United States residents could receive a Social Security check in as little as one week. This will happen for a group of citizens who meet a single requirement. This requirement is none other than having a birthday on a certain number of days.

The Social Security Administration divides retirees into three different groups. Each of these groups receives a retirement check on a Wednesday of the month. The Calendar is always fixed and the payments are on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays. This means that next Wednesday, January 8th, the Social Security Administration will send out the next payment.

With this in mind, you only need to know which group will receive the first of these payments. Only by meeting the birthday requirement next week will this group receive their benefit. Are you in the group of retirees who will receive the money in the next mailing?

Who receives the next Social Security payment?

Not only Early Retirement Age (ERA) retirees will receive their retirement benefit next week. In addition to these retirees, so will retirees who are retired due to disability, widowhood or some other reason. In short, any and all retirees who have a Social Security benefit could receive this check.

The only really important requirement is the date of birth. And we are not talking about the year or the month, but only the day. Therefore, the day of the birthday is the data that Social Security takes into account to send one day or another the cheque to the retirees. On the next payday, SSA will send benefits to retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.

Pension payment schedule in February

In addition to the payment on the 8th of February, Social Security will also pay other benefits to retirees in February. Supplemental Security Income is on the 1st of the month and in February there are no irregularities in this regard.

On the other hand, there are two other Social Security benefit payments days in February 2023:

  • Third Wednesday of the month. 15th of February. On this day the Social Security Administration pays retirement benefits to beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month.
  • Fourth Wednesday of the month. February 22nd. Retirees with benefits born between the 21st and 31st of the month may collect their benefits on this day.

In addition, the payment arrives immediately if we activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, we will have to wait up to 3 days to receive it. Anyway, we will receive the money sooner or later, so there is nothing to worry about.
