The United States Social Security Administration has a number of benefits. Thanks to these benefits, many Americans are able to enjoy a good retirement. While it is true that we should not rely 100% on retirement, it is a good source of money. A large portion of retired Americans live on benefits alone, which is why they are so important.
If you live in the United States and are due to collect a retirement or disability benefit, you could be getting paid very soon. The second week of September the first Social Security pension payment will be sent out. Therefore, you can start preparing your wallet to get the amount you are entitled to. It depends on the day of your birth, though.
Who gets Social Security Disability first in September?
People born between the 1st and 10th of the month are the first to receive the benefit. Therefore, if you were born between those days, you will be entitled to your benefit in the first Social Security payment. In addition to this payment, there are other different payments within the same category. Not only that, but there is also another category, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which is paid on a monthly basis.
Your Disability payment, therefore, may be sent on the following days, depending on your date of birth:
- Second Wednesday of the month: September 13. People born between the 1st and 10th will collect Social Security on this day. It does not matter if for retirement, disability or blindness.
- Third Wednesday of the month: September 20. The SSA will send your pension money to those born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Fourth Wednesday of the month: September 27. Last SSA money sent for retirement or disability. On this day, people born between the 21st and 31st will be paid.
On the other hand, SSI payments for September are sent by Social Security on the following days:
- First working day of the month: September 1. SSI payment for the same month.
- Last working day of the month: September 29. SSI payment for October.
In addition to this, anyone entitled to a pension can receive their amount of money these days. You just need to remember your date of birth to find out when the Social Security Administration will send you your benefit. If you already have an accepted benefit you just have to wait. You don’t have to take any extra steps to get it.
