The Social Security checks that arrive every month are on their way for many retirees. As early as this week, some United States citizens may receive up to 2 different checks. This means they may get Supplemental Security Income on one side and a retirement pension on the other.
However, not everyone in the United States will receive these two checks. In order to receive both payments, it is mandatory to have Supplemental Security Income accepted and, in addition, to belong to the first group of retirees.
Retirees in the United States are divided into groups when it comes to receiving payments. So a retiree may receive a check in one week or another depending on the day of birth and the year of retirement.
And this means that many of these Americans can receive two payments in the same week. The Social Security Administration sends two different checks to two different groups of citizens.
Pay attention to the requirements to be able to get these two benefits this week. Otherwise, you may receive the benefit as you do every month, but not in the same week.
REQUIREMENTS FOR TWO SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS THIS WEEK
Let’s move on to see what exactly are the conditions that a citizen must meet in order to get the two checks. Social Security will send two different payments to retirees who meet these requirements:
- Have Supplemental Security Income benefit previously accepted.
- Have a Social Security retirement check from before 1997.
If these two requirements are met, the beneficiary will be able to collect these two payments. However, if we do not have Direct Deposit activated, it may take a few days for the money to arrive.
What is certain is that the Social Security Administration will send the payments on July 1st and July 3rd. The 1st is the Supplemental Security Income payment. The 3rd of the month is the retirement payment for beneficiaries who retired before 1997.
OTHER SSA PAYMENTS FOR AUGUST
All other beneficiaries will receive their retirement benefits in the following weeks. Checks for retirees with a post-1997 benefit will arrive in the following days:
- August 9th. Payment for retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- August 16th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month will cash this check.
- August 23rd. Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st collect Social Security on this day.
And these benefits are also compatible with Supplemental Security Income. Also, remember that these are the days when the Social Security Administration will send checks. Receiving them earlier or later will depend on the collection method chosen by the individual.
