The July United States pensioner payment schedule is over. This means that the Social Security Administration will not be sending out new checks within days this month. Therefore, we will have to wait until August to be able to enjoy a new benefit.
If you have not yet received your July check, we may have to claim it. The Social Security Administration has followed the usual schedule for this month’s payments. The only irregularity in July was the Supplemental Security Income, which the Administration mailed on June 30th.
Regardless of the timing of the mailing, any retiree should have this month’s Social Security checks by now. So claim as soon as possible to avoid further delays. And remember, if you have Direct Deposit activated, you won’t have to wait a day to get the payment in your pocket.
When is the next Supplemental Security Income payment?
After the last payment for July, last Wednesday, the 26th of the month, August’s Social Security checks arrive. The 1st of August will be the Supplemental Security Income payment, as there are no irregularities in the schedule.
Once the SSI payment reaches the beneficiaries, the next payment will be on August 3rd. This payment will only be for retirees with SSA prior to 1997. It is the only requirement to collect this benefit.
Finally, on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month the rest of the checks will arrive. These Social Security payments are for post-1997 retirees. Retirees will receive the money on one day or the other depending on their birthday.
Social Security for post-1997 retirees
Post-1997 retirees will receive their retirement check on different days of the month. This will not affect the Supplemental Security Income checks. Each of these checks will be completely separate. Therefore, receiving both payments is possible.
For the month of August, these will be the days when the Social Security Administration will send checks to retirees with a post-1997 benefit:
- August 9th. Retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th receive this payment.
- August 16th. After Supplemental Security Income on August 1st, retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- August 23rd. Social Security will arrive on this day for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
After that, the next payment will arrive in September. So another new month will begin for retirees who are waiting for a check. Remember to activate Direct Deposit if you want to receive the money instantly. Otherwise, you will have to wait a few days to get the Social Security money in your pocket. Regardless of the day of collection, Direct Deposit is always the best option, as you will not have to wait to be able to use the money.
