Millions of United States retirees who have not yet cashed their November Social Security checks could be in luck today. The payment could arrive today to citizens who meet several requirements. Just by meeting a couple of conditions, they could have the payment in their pockets if not today, then in the next few days.
Receiving it earlier or later in the month will depend on certain characteristics in the personal information. In other words, to determine the day the Social Security Administration will send us a check, we must look at the conditions for each group. In total, the Administration sends up to 4 different payments on 4 different days.
Belonging to the group that gets payment number 1 of the month will depend on our retirement year. Similarly, we could belong to the group of retirees in groups 2, 3 or 4. Regardless of which group we belong to we will get our monthly payment without any problems, it will just be earlier or later.
Similarly, the type of Social Security benefit does not affect the day of payment at all. What does influence it is the method of collection, and citizens who do not have the fastest collection method activated are the ones who could get up to $3,627 today. All of this can be added to the Supplemental Security Income payment already received to get a larger benefit.
HOW TO GET YOUR NOVEMBER SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT TODAY?
The first thing to keep in mind is that in order to receive a Social Security payment today, you must be in group 2 of retirees. This implies fulfilling two fundamental conditions. These conditions are to have been retired since after 1997 and to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
If we are in this group, we have already passed the first filter to be able to receive the new retirement payment today. The other filter is to choose the method of payment. The fastest payment method to receive the benefits is Direct Deposit, but if we have this method activated, we will get the money on the same day it is sent.
For this reason, in order to be able to cash the check on the days after November 8th, the day this payment is sent, it is mandatory not to have activated this option. In the end, the choice of the cashing method is totally optional and personal. For that reason, if we are not in a hurry to get the check we can not activate Direct Deposit and we will get the money in the days following the mailing of Social Security.
ARE THERE MORE RETIREMENT PAYMENTS THIS MONTH?
In addition to the November 8th payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month, the Social Security Administration sends three different payments each month. One of them has already been sent, but there are still two more payments before the end of the month.
The complete payment schedule for the month of November is as follows:
- November 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment. This check for $914 maximum is only for the neediest United States citizens.
- November 3rd. Social Security check for pre-1997 retirees.
- November 8th. This is this week’s payment.
- November 15th. Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month with a check from after 1997 may collect payment on this day.
- November 22nd. Last payment of the month. Only post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st have access to this benefit.
Getting the Social Security on the same day the Administration sends it will depend on the collection method we have activated. The option is personal, as we have mentioned, so we must choose the one that is best for us.
