All United States citizens are required to send the IRS their tax return during the tax season. While it is true that not 100% of Americans have this obligation, it is recommended that they do so, since they could get a tax refund from the IRS by doing so.

This is something that not all citizens know, since there are some of them that do not know perfectly the IRS system and everything that is around this administration. For that reason sometimes they need help, and the fact is that Americans have the obligation to file a tax return, but they do not know how to do it in many cases.

Fortunately, the IRS offers a wide range of help to all Americans. In addition to programs such as FreeFile, where we can get great help to complete our tax return, there is also personalized help. In this case, we are talking about volunteers who help Americans from home.

This is a huge help that thousands of citizens can apply for. The big advantage of this is not only that we will be able to get help from home, but also that we will get our tax return sent in on time. Remember that the IRS has already announced the deadline for sending all the mandatory documents.

In order to receive this help we will need to meet a series of requirements. Although the requirements are not very strict, not all Americans will be eligible for this help.

VITA and TCE help eligibility requirements

The programs that help U.S. citizens with their tax returns are Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE). These programs can help us without having to leave home, so there are many advantages.

Eligibility requirements for VITA and TCE are:
