Although it may appear that all United States citizens with a disability benefit get their payment on the same day this is not the case. Only one group may get payment in the next few days. That said, one of the great advantages of cashing a United States Social Security check is that we can know in advance when we will collect each payment.
The retirement check calendar follows a schedule so that beneficiaries can know on what day they collect their payment. And in the case of disability retirees the schedule is the same. So, we find that it is possible to know the day in advance. And in the next week we will see a new payment coming to the next group of retirees.
So whether you are a disability retiree or for some other reason you can get the new benefit. But you must belong to a particular group and meet certain requirements. Otherwise, the payment will not reach your pocket, but you will be able to collect it on a different day. If you do not belong to this group, you do not have to worry, as you will get the payment anyway.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEXT DISABILITY BENEFIT PAYMENT
As we have already mentioned, only one group will be able to collect the new United States Social Security benefit. This group does not have a disability as a requirement, but they do have two other mandatory requirements.
If you want to collect the check on December 13th, you will need to meet two requirements:
- Have a Social Security check from after 1997. It doesn’t matter if the check is for disability or for another reason.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
By meeting these two requirements, you will be able to enjoy a new check in just a few days. Remember that for disability beneficiaries this check has a maximum of $3,627, but in 2024 that figure will increase by 3.2%.
OTHER SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS IN DECEMBER
In addition to this day’s payment other checks will arrive throughout December to beneficiaries. Getting these payments will depend on whether we meet the requirements or not. Therefore, we should take a good look at the payment schedule to make sure we will collect our disability benefit soon.
These are all the Social Security payment days in December excluding the 13th:
- December 1st. Payment for pre-1997 retirees.
- December 20th. Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- December 27th. Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Aside from these days there are also two Supplemental Security Income payment days on the 1st and 29th of December. If you have a disability check you already know which days of the month you might get your check.
