A new start of the week means for many United States Social Security disability beneficiaries the cashing of the new pension check. As is well known to all Americans, pension payments always arrive on up to 4 different days of the month. Depending on your personal information, you will get your payment on one day or another.
In this case, the payments will arrive on October 18th. This payment corresponds to the payment of the third Wednesday of the month. To get this payment, you must meet certain requirements. And in the case of having a disability pensioner they are also mandatory.
Although it is true that it is not mandatory to have a disability benefit, but any other type of Social Security check can get the payments of this day. In order to get this payment it is important to take into account two fundamental elements. One of them is related to your birthday and the other is your day of birth.
Just by meeting these two requirements we will have enough for the Social Security Administration to send us the disability benefit on the next October 18th. That is tomorrow. And tomorrow we could get a check if we activate a particular option that gives us the benefit payment on the exact same day.
WHO CAN COLLECT THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY PAYMENT?
As we have already mentioned, the requirements for getting the new Social Security disability payment have nothing to do with the type of retirement. In this sense, those who are retired due to age or for some other reason are also entitled to collect the payment tomorrow, October 18th. The payment may arrive for retirees who have had their benefit since after 1997 and, in addition, have their birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month.
Therefore, with only two requirements it is more than enough for the Administration to send us the check. Even so, if we do not activate the Direct Deposit option, the payment will not arrive on the 18th day of the month, but days later. So activating this option is something we must take into account. If we do not do so, the money will arrive later and, therefore, we will not be able to enjoy it so soon.
WHY NO SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME PAYMENT IN OCTOBER?
After the October 18th payment for retirees who meet the above mentioned requirements, there is only one more payment this month. This payment will be on the 25th and will have two other requirements in order to get it. On the other hand, the Supplemental Security Income payment does not arrive in October for beneficiaries.
This is because this month’s payment is usually due on the 1st of each month. But the Social Security Administration does not send payments on holidays or weekends. And October 1st was a weekend. Therefore, the Administration did not send checks to disability beneficiaries or any other type of retiree.
For that reason, there are no Supplemental Security Income payments in October. But the payment did arrive, as the Administration sends out a total of 1 payment per month for the entire year. That is, at the end of the year, each SSI recipient gets 12 different SSI payments.
The payment for this check was sent on the 29th of September. This was the last business day just before the 1st of October. Retirees with an SSI check were able to enjoy that benefit on that day. After that payment, the October calendar has followed its usual course, so there have been no irregularities either for disability beneficiaries or for any other payment.
