A new payment from the Social Security Administration could arrive today for millions of United States retirees. Although there is no mailing of retirement payments from the Administration today, beneficiaries who meet three requirements will be able to enjoy a payment of up to $4,555. So take note to see if you can count on that retirement check today.
The Social Security Administration’s schedule of payments has the year of retirement and each retiree’s birthday as requirements. This means that through these two elements we will be able to find out on which day of the month the Administration sends us a check. But it is not the same for the Administration to send the Social Security check as for us to get it.
The day we get the payment may be a totally different day than the day it is sent. And that is the situation we are going to find today. In order to receive the Social Security check this week, we must be part of group 2 of retirees, but we also have to meet another requirement related to the method of payment.
HOW TO GET THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT TODAY?
The two essential requirements to be part of group 2 of retirees are related to personal information. In other words, there is nothing we can do to change the day on which the Administration sends us each check every month. But we can do something to choose the day on which we get the money.
On this basis, let’s take a look at the requirements for the Administration to send us a Social Security check in group 2:
- Have a benefit after 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
With these requirements, the Administration will send us a check on the second Wednesday of each month. This is in November on the 8th. So we already know the day the money will be sent and the requirements to be part of the group that gets the money, but how to get the check today?
Well, the answer is quite simple, and what we have to do is to choose the least fast cashing method. If we choose Direct Deposit, the money will appear instantly in our bank account. However, if we choose the slowest method of payment, i.e. deposit to our bank account, the money can arrive up to 3 days later.
In these cases it is usual for the retirement check to arrive before Friday of the same week. The choice of the collection method is totally individual and personal, so each citizen must choose the most convenient way to collect his or her Social Security check each month.
OTHER RETIREMENT PAYMENTS IN NOVEMBER
In addition to this Social Security retirement payment the Administration will send out two other checks in the month of November. These two other checks are for group 3 and 4 retirees. The requirements are slightly different, although there is one overlapping requirement.
To get the payment on the 15th of November it is mandatory to have the benefit since after 1997 and to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month. If you want to receive payment on the 22nd day of November, your birthday must be between the 21st and 31st of the month and you must have applied for the benefit after 1997.
The type of retirement is not important in determining the day of the Social Security payment. And remember that if you activate Direct Deposit you can get the money on the same day, but it is not a mandatory option.
