United States citizens waiting to receive a new Social Security disability benefit payment will have to wait a few more days. Although it is customary for the next group of retirees to be paid in the second week of the month, in September the schedule changes a bit.
In fact, the Social Security Administration will not send out any new disability benefit checks this week. This means that beneficiaries who are counting on this money for their expenses will not be able to receive a new payment. So it is best to check our finances to see if we have enough money or not.
What is certain is that we do not have to count on this benefit, but only during this week. Starting next week, the Social Security Administration will resume payments so that eligible retirees can receive the new disability benefit payment.
So be sure to watch the payment schedule to see whether or not the new check, which will arrive starting next week, will reach your bank account. During the days of this week a payment may indeed arrive to disability retirees, but only to a specific group.
WHICH GROUP CAN RECEIVE A DISABILITY PAYMENT THIS WEEK?
In order to receive a disability payment this week, two requirements are necessary. It is essential to keep in mind that if we receive a check these days, it is because it is a late payment from last week.
These are the two requirements for last week’s check to arrive this week:
- Have a benefit prior to 1997.
- Do not have Direct Deposit activated as a collection method.
Therefore, receiving a check these days would mean we have a delay from the usual payment days. All other retirees will have their check in the next few days, so they will have to wait to be able to collect their disability benefit.
The payment days for these retirees will be on the 13th, 20th and 27th of September. All of these days are for beneficiaries with a post-1997 disability benefit. Retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th will be paid on the 13th.
On the other hand, beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th will be paid on the 20th day of September. Finally, the group of beneficiaries whose birthday is between the 21st and 31st of the month will receive their benefit on the 27th of the month.
Remember that if you do not activate Direct Deposit, the disability payment will take a little longer to arrive. However, if you choose this payment method, the money will appear immediately and you will not have to wait a single day to receive your Social Security money.
