Disability Benefits: These beneficiaries will not have to wait any longer to get their September benefits

You will not get your new Social Security payment if you do not meet these requirements

Which State will no longer send SNAP Food Stamps?

One of the great advantages of collecting a disability benefit from the Social Security Administration in the United States is the payment schedule. With a fixed calendar that we can consult whenever we need it, we will always know when we will receive our new disability check. This is a huge advantage because thanks to this information we can organize ourselves in a very efficient way financially.

This schedule of Social Security payments makes life easier for millions of people who collect their disability benefits. Without a stable payment schedule, many of these beneficiaries may not be able to pay all of their bills on time. And that’s why it’s so important to be fully aware of the Social Security payment schedule.

While it is true that the disability payment schedule is easy to know, it is also important to keep in mind that not all retirees are paid on that day. That is, you must separate the date the Social Security Administration sends the payment from the date a disability beneficiary receives it.

What is the condition for receiving the first disability benefit in May?

Within the category of disability payments we find two different ones. A large part of Americans who have this type of benefit only receive their retirement payment, but there is another different payment. This other payment is called Supplemental Security Income and we must also take it into account when organizing our finances.

Therefore, depending on our own characteristics the first of the May payments will be one or the other. Let’s look at the two types of payments to determine which one a disability beneficiary will receive first.

Supplemental Security Income

This is the first of all the payments Social Security sends out in May. This check will arrive in a beneficiary’s pocket on the 1st of the month. It is possible for an individual to receive this payment later if he or she does not activate Direct Deposit as a collection method.

Even so, in order to receive this Supplemental Security benefit we have to meet two main requirements:

  • Be 65 years of age or older or have a disability.
  • Have low economic resources as well as low monthly income.

If we meet these requirements, this will be the first disability payment for the month of May for us.

Disability pensioner’s pension

The other benefit that a user with disabilities can receive is the retirement pensioner’s paycheck. This other benefit requires different conditions. If we are already collecting it, we may be able to receive it on May 3rd.

But not all Americans who have a disability benefit will receive it on May 3rd. For this monthly check to be the first Social Security payment in May, we must be retired before 1997.

Retirees after that date will receive their disability benefit in the weeks following. The exact date of payment will depend on each beneficiary’s birthday.
