Social Security checks always follow a specific schedule that the Administration announces so that all United States citizens can plan their finances. For that reason, banks also know in advance on what day the dollars related to retirement benefits will be available. This is a great advantage because we can know a long time in advance when we will have a check.
In the case that we are expecting a Social Security check for the month of July, the day may be one of the 4 on which the Administration will send the payment. In addition, we will have one less Social Security payment in July. It is usual for the Administration to send 5 different checks during the days of the month.
But in the case of July this will not be the case due to a calendar irregularity. Therefore, we find that during the days of July only four different checks will reach the beneficiaries. In this sense, each citizen can get a maximum of one of these checks. It is not possible to get more than this amount.
Schedule of July 2023 Social Security check payments
The checks for Social Security payments for the month of July 2023 will arrive on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. But watch out, as there is another group besides these three. This other group will receive payment on a totally different day. Below we are going to look at the payment schedule for all the benefits for the month:
- July 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-1997 retirees. If your benefit is before that year, your check will arrive on this day.
- July 12th. Post-1997 beneficiaries can receive this payment. In addition to that condition, they must also have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- July 19th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month receive a check on this day. It is also necessary to have applied for retirement after 1997.
- July 26th. This is the last payment of the month. This benefit is for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
As you can see by looking at the calendar, there are only four Social Security checks during the weeks of July 2023. This is because the Supplemental Security Income payment is sent within the days of June.
Even though this is the case, there is nothing to worry about. Each beneficiary always receives the previously established amount every month. In this sense, both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income payments arrive in the same way. The only thing that changes is the day.
Due to an irregularity in the calendar we find ourselves with one less check within July, but nothing to worry about. At the end of the year, the amount of money is exactly the same, so Supplemental Security Income retirees have nothing to worry about.
Remember, this calendar is to keep track of the days when the Social Security Administration sends checks. Whether or not you receive them on the same day depends on whether you have Direct Deposit or the classic bank transfer activated. In order to get the payment immediately we must activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, it may take up to 3 days for the money to arrive, depending on various factors outside the Social Security Administration itself.
