The United States Social Security Disability Benefit payment day is not the same for all beneficiaries. Receiving a disability check on one day or another depends on certain factors that make up the payment schedule. Therefore, we need to know exactly on which day we will receive our disability benefit check.
In order to know on which day we will receive our check, we must know the schedule. The Social Security Administration has published the complete payment schedule for the month of June so that disability beneficiaries can organize their finances. In this particular month it is important to note that the checks are arriving later than usual.
While it is true that the Social Security Administration will still send out disability checks, they will arrive a little later. Because of the way the calendar is set up, payments for all benefits for a group arrive beginning in the third week of the month. Although this appears to be a delay, it’s really not that big of a deal, as it’s still easy to get organized.
Claiming late disability benefit payments
As we discussed earlier, disability benefit checks arrive a little later than usual in June. These payments arrive this way because the month began on a Thursday. When this occurs, the second Wednesday of the month is in the third week. And since for post-1997 retirees they start collecting on the second Wednesday of the month in the end they receive their check later.
This results in the payment having arrived on the 14th day of the month. And if you are eligible for this benefit, you may already have the money today if you have Direct Deposit activated. If you have not received the money, you can claim it in two different ways.
On the one hand, you can claim the payment from your bank. It is advisable to talk to the bank before taking any further steps, as it is common for the bank to withhold the money. On the other hand, we can speak directly with Social Security to claim our disability check. If the bank has not helped us, the government should fix all our problems with the delayed payment.
When is the next Social Security payment?
Today June 14th, 2023 is the disability benefit payment for one group of retirees. This group is post-1997 beneficiaries with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of the month.
After this day, the Administration will send the next payment on June 21st. This disability check is only for retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month. The check is also exclusive for retirees born after 1997.
Finally, beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of the month with retirement after 1997 receive the check on the 28th of June. After this disability payment, it is necessary to wait until July to receive the next one. Still, the July Supplemental Security Income will arrive on the June 30th, so there is still one more check to be mailed by the Social Security Administration.
