Within the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule we can find a large number of irregularities that cause some beneficiaries with a disabilitiy in the United States not to receive one of the checks for the month. This is because disability benefit payments are divided into up to 4 different groups. Therefore, receiving one of these checks will depend directly on whether we meet certain requirements.
Despite this, keep in mind that these requirements are not optional. Citizens are divided into several different groups based on their date of birth or year of retirement. What we mean by this is that the day of collection is not of one’s own choosing. A retiree cannot decide to join a group that is paid at the beginning of the month or at the end of the month. Beneficiaries with disabilities are in one group or the other depending on their personal information.
The idea of sending Social Security disability checks on different days helps a lot to keep the system from collapsing. By staggering the payment of retirement benefits, the Administration ensures that the checks are sent out on time. This system is very convenient and also helps Americans get organized effectively.
Who will not receive their next Social Security disability payment?
There are several groups that will not receive the next Social Security disability payment. These retirees are the ones who will not have access to the new June check:
- Pre-1997 retirees.
- Post-1997 retirees with birthdays on the following dates:
- Between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Regarding the days of the month, the month of birth is not important, only the day. In this regard, only one group will be able to collect the new disability payment for the month of June. This group is the retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month. Beneficiaries born in June receive checks in June, April and January of the whole year.
How can I get paid faster?
Any Social Security payment, disability or otherwise, can arrive much sooner if we activate Direct Deposit. This collection method is immediate and instantaneous. For that reason, the moment the Administration sends the check we will be able to enjoy the money without having to wait a moment.
In spite of this, we should not worry if we do not have Direct Deposit activated, since we will have the money available in the same way. Although we will not have it directly in our pocket, but we will have to wait a few days to receive it.
While it is true that receiving the Social Security disability money through the classic bank account is fine, with Direct Deposit it is much better. This is because if it happens like this month, that the last Wednesday of payments is the 28th, many citizens without Direct Deposit may have to wait until July to have the money available.
