To talk about Pirates of the Caribbean is to talk about Jack Sparrow and Johnny Depp. Although the last two films did not have the same impact as the first three, one of the common denominators so far has been the Kentucky actor, who is now involved in a lawsuit with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Another pillar of these Hollywood blockbusters was producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who spoke to The Times about the future of the saga.
And is that the sixth installment is already underway. Regarding this new part, Bruckheimer explained that there are two scripts: one would have actress Margot Robbie as the protagonist, although there is another “without her”.
Although it was initially hinted that Karen Gillian (Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji) would star in the new film, it seems clear that Johnny Depp will not return in the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The producer said that “not at this time”, but that “the future is yet to be decided”.
It should be recalled that Johnny Depp declared that he would not play Jack Sparrow again even if Disney paid him 300 million dollars. He did so during the trial facing his ex-wife, and in which the actor accused his ex-wife of defamation for an article he published in The Washington Post in 2018 after their divorce, in which he claimed to have suffered “domestic violence”.
So far, the star of Warner Bros.’ Pirates of the Caribbean has parted ways with the third installment of the Fantastic Animals franchise.
