On the upcoming September 20, 2023, the United States Social Security Administration will send out new pension checks for eligible beneficiaries. So if you are on the list of retirees who do not receive a check you will not be able to collect the benefit.
However, there are other payment days during the month of September, so there is nothing to worry about. It is possible to cash the check on one of the other days, but that would mean we don’t receive the money on September 20th.
In total, the Social Security Administration sends four different checks to pensioners. The checks are completely individual and the amount depends on each citizen’s work history. But the day of receiving it changes from one to another depending on several elements and requirements.
With this in mind we must organize our economy in the month. So if you are expecting to receive the money soon you should make sure you are within the list. If you are not on the list of retirees who will receive the money for the month, you will have to reconfigure your financial organization, as you may not receive the money for some time.
LIST OF RETIREES WHO WILL NOT RECEIVE THE NEXT SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT
The retirees who will not have access to the next Social Security payment on September 20 are those who are not on this list. Even so, as we have already commented, there is nothing to worry about. Every citizen collects their payment regardless of the day they receive it. So your benefit will arrive on one day or another of the month.
These are the beneficiaries who will not be able to collect the new payment of up to 4,555 from Social Security:
- Retirees with a pre-1997 benefit. All retirees with a check requested prior to this year collect their benefit on the 3rd day of the month as usual, although this has changed a bit in September. Since the 3rd day was a weekend, retirees were paid on the 1st of the month.
- Retirees with a post-1997 benefit who meet another requirement. Not all beneficiaries after this year receive the money on this day. Retirees with a birthday between the 1st-10th and 21-31st of the month will not be able to collect check on September 20.
This means that only retirees with a post-1997 benefit and birthdays between the 1st and 10th can receive the new benefit. These are the two indispensable filters they must pass if they want to receive the benefit.
To this we must add the chosen method of payment. In order to receive the Social Security payment on September 20, it is mandatory to activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, the money will arrive, but not on the same day, but will appear in the following days of the month.
