These two criteria to get the next Social Security payment are:
- Having a benefit after 1997. So if you applied for a check before 1997, you will not be able to get the new disability or old age retirement payment.
- Have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month. This is the second group of post-1997 retirees.
