Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a type of payment that the Social Security Administration sends to the neediest retirees and disability beneficiaries in the United States. However, not all aged retirees and users with disabilities can get this check from Social Security.
In order to receive Supplemental Security Income, which is doubled in March, from Social Security, certain financial requirements must be met. These requirements can be checked in their entirety on the Administration’s website, although there is an easier way to find out.

Who will receive the two March Social Security SSI payments?
The two March Social Security SSI payments will go to all SSI recipients. But we must have it accepted in advance. That is, we cannot receive this double check if our benefit has not yet been accepted. However, we may be able to receive one of these two March payments if our SSI is in process.
March 1st is this month’s SSI payment day, so retirees must have their benefits accepted in advance. Otherwise, they will not receive this check on this day.
If the Social Security Administration accepts our Supplemental Security Income in mid-March, we will receive one of the checks in the same month. To be exact, on the 31st day of March. This check is actually for the month of April, although it is earlier due to a calendar irregularity.
Other payments by the Administration in March
In addition to the March SSI double payment, retirees may receive their pension check on the following days:
- March 8th.
- March 15th.
- March 22nd.
Just by knowing the date of the birthday we can find out the day we will receive these Social Security checks. Retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th receive their check on the 8th. Pension recipients born between the 11th and 20th receive a check on the 15th of March. Finally, the Social Security Administration sends the last pension check to retirees born between the 21st and 31st on March 22nd.
With Direct Deposit we will receive the cheque immediately, something that does not happen if we receive the money by bank deposit. In this second case we will have to wait up to 3 days to receive the payment.
