Only a group of retirees aged 65 will receive the new check within hours

Why will SSDI users not receive SSI in April?

Top reasons why Social Security checks do not arrive on time

In the United States, not all Social Security beneficiaries have Supplemental Security Income as a check to supplement their benefit. This type of financial help is only available to a certain group of age or disability retirees who meet certain requirements.

However, when retirees have this benefit accepted, the Social Security Administration sends it on time every month. This means that on the 1st of each month, Social Security sends the Supplemental Security Income check money to all of its beneficiaries.

Despite this, there are some months when the schedule is a little irregular. When the 1st of the month is a holiday or a weekend, the Social Security Administration has to send this benefit on a different day. That is why we will receive up to two Supplemental Security Income checks in March.

When will I receive SSI from Social Security in March?

Social Security will send up to 2 separate Supplemental Security Income checks to beneficiaries who have this benefit accepted. These are the benefit mailing days:

  • March 1st. On this day, the Administration sends out the check with the Supplemental Security Income money for March.
  • March 31st. Social Security sends out the check for April 2023 on this last business day of March.

Therefore, if a pensioner with these accepted benefits could get a double Supplemental Security Income check in March. This would only happen if Direct Deposit was activated. If we receive the money through a bank account, it will take up to 3 days to arrive. Therefore, we would ultimately receive the money in April and would not have an advance.

Other SSA payments in March

Not only will we have the double Supplemental Security Income payment in March. We will also receive other payments from Social Security during this month. The payment days are as follows:

  • March 8th. Retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
  • March 15th. Social Security pays checks for beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
  • March 22nd. Pensioners born between the 21st and 31st of the month can receive their check on this day.

By activating Direct Deposit we will be able to receive the cheque on the same day, as mentioned above. The days listed are the days on which Social Security sends out checks. Receipt of the money will depend on the collection method you have chosen.

After March, there are other months when Social Security will send out double Supplemental Security Income checks. To find out when you will get two checks in a month, just check the 1st of each month. When the 1st is a holiday or weekend, the payment is made on the immediately preceding business day.
