Although the Social Security schedule ensures that United States pensioners’ money is always sent on time, sometimes there can be delays. But these delays have nothing to do with the Social Security Administration itself. They are delays external to the Administration and, therefore, there is nothing the organization can do directly to fix the problem. However, we can avoid these delays if we are familiar with all the methods for collecting the Social Security pension.
It is also important in these cases to be familiar with the Social Security calendar for payments. If we know the days on which the SSA sends the payments, we can know perfectly well the days on which we will receive the money. It usually takes a few days for the money to reach our pocket, but there is also a way to make the money available as soon as the SSA sends it.
So far, two different Social Security pension payments have been sent this month. In addition to this, last November 1, the SSA sent Supplemental Security Income payments to all recipients of this financial help. The remaining payments occurred on the 9th and 16th of November. But these payments were for pensions, so retirees born within certain days were able to receive the money on these days.
Methods of receiving Social Security
There are two main methods and one of them is really fast. We are talking about Direct Deposit. Through this way of collecting the Social Security we will have the money at our disposal immediately. For that reason it is advisable to start using it as soon as we start collecting any pension, either for retirement age or disability.
- Direct Deposit. As we have already mentioned, this is the fastest way. Through Direct Deposit, retirees can receive their payment immediately. It can be used as a regular debit card and it is not necessary to have a bank account to use it.
- Bank account. This method is also efficient, but a little slower. It can take up to 3 days for the money to reach the bank account. Even so, it is also a very safe method.
Regardless of the method you choose, if you have problems receiving Social Security, you should contact the Administration immediately. Always update all your information through My Social Security so that there are no problems with your data. If you get married, move or change anything in your life, enter the information as soon as you can to avoid any delays with pension payments.
