The United States Government has announced a new payment for Social Security retirees in just a few days. In the next retirement payment only a specific group will get the money, so we should check the requirements to know if we are eligible or not.
In the case of being eligible, a payment of up to $4,873 can reach our checking account. This payment is the maximum, of course, which means that we would have to take into account that our check will be different from that maximum amount.
Who will get the maximum Social Security payment of $4,873?
Only group 1 retirees have access to this new check that the United States Government will send to Social Security beneficiaries. To be part of this group 1, each retiree has to meet a requirement. By fulfilling this requirement, we have direct access to the payment.
The requirement is none other than to have had a retirement check since before May 1997. There is no extra requirement, so we only have to meet that requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us the payment on June 3rd. That will be the first payment for the entire month of June for beneficiaries with a retirement check.
Can Disability retirees get this Social Security?
The answer is yes, each of the Social Security checks is for all groups of beneficiaries. The benefit payment does not distinguish between the type of benefit. Therefore, Disability and Age-Based beneficiaries can get payment on the same day.
One thing to keep in mind is the chosen collection method. If we have Direct Deposit, the money will appear immediately in the current account. If not, we will have to wait a few days for the money to appear in our pocket.
In short, the type of benefit does not matter, but the group of retirees to which we belong does. Also, the collection method chosen will determine whether we get the money immediately or have to wait longer to have the Social Security money available.
