Thanks to the fact that the United States Social Security Administration announces the schedule of Supplemental Security Income payments in advance, we can know if in any given month we will not cash a check. Having this information in advance will help us organize our household finances as effectively as possible.
Therefore, if we also know when we will collect each of our Social Security payments, if we collect them as well, we can be as organized as possible. However, remember that Supplemental Security Income is not for all Americans with a retirement benefit.
To get a Supplemental Security Income payment, we must meet certain requirements. If we do not meet them, we will not qualify for this payment. So if you have a check accepted, take a look at the payment schedule and plan for all the months of the year 2024 as best as possible as far as the economy is concerned.
In case you don’t have the check you might be interested in this information, since you could apply for it in the future. In short, knowing in which months we might not collect the SSI is very important to have a better control of our economy.
SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME PAYMENTS IN 2024
In order to have a better organization of the Supplemental Security Income payments in 2024, we must look at the complete payment schedule. This way we will know if we have a payment in a given month or if we have it in advance or if it will arrive a little later.
Let’s look at all the months and the SSI payments we could have in them:
- January. There is no SSI payment in this month because it was sent in last December 29, 2023.
- February. February 1st. This payment belongs to this month, so there is no irregularity.
- March. March 1st. No irregularities for this month’s Supplemental Security Income payment.
- April. April 1st. No irregularities for SSI for this month either.
- May. May 1st and May 31st. In this month there is an irregularity. The payment for the month of June will arrive on the 31st of May because the 1st of June is a Saturday.
- June. There are no Supplemental Security Income remittances in this month. This is because the 1st is a holiday, so the Social Security Administration will send the payment on the 31st of May.
- July. July 1st. No incidents or irregularities in this calendar.
- August. August 1st and August 30th. September 1st is a Sunday, so the Administration advances the Supplemental Security Income for that month to the last business day of August.
- September. There are no payments in this month because the 30th of the previous month is sent early.
- October. October 1st. This month has a normal schedule.
- November. November 1st and November 29th. This month’s payments are two because December 1st is a Sunday.
- December. 31st of December. This payment is actually from the 2025 calendar. Therefore, it will include the COLA for that year.
And with this calendar we can now have more clarity on exactly when we can get the Supplemental Security Income payment and if Social Security will advance it by any month. It is very useful to keep in mind all the collection days.
