Can I Draw Social Security at 62 and Still Work Full Time?

What do you do if Social Security tells you to pay back benefits you have already received?

62 years-old seniors are not getting next SSI check

Whether it is one week or another, the Social Security Adminsitration always sends the retirement benefit to all retirees in the United States. In this sense it doesn’t matter what state the retiree lives in, what really matters is having a benefit accepted. With an accepted Social Security check, getting the money into the retiree’s pocket is only a matter of time.

One of the great advantages of this whole system put in place by the Social Security Administration is being able to know when retirees cash their checks. With such a well-organized schedule, it is much easier for pensioners to pay their bills, their rent and any other expenses they may have. Therefore, it is an advantage to have the information.

The groups of pensioners collecting a benefit are always divided into 3 different groups. Each group is composed of Social Security users who were born on different days. Thus, one group is made up of retirees born between the 1st and 10th. Another group is made up of retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month, which is the group we are currently talking about. Finally, there is the group of retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Each group has its advantages and disadvantages, so whether we are in one group or the other, we always have both good and bad sides. What’s really important in all of this is that Social Security will send checks every month, regardless of the day of birth.

Collecting Social Security on birthdays between the 11th and 20th birthdays

The list of possible advantages and disadvantages of Social Security when it comes to collecting a retirement benefit are several. It is possible that one person may see it from another point of view, so an advantage for one may be a disadvantage for another.

Advantages of being born between the 11th and 20th birthdays

Here are the advantages.

  • You can get paid in the middle of the month. Social Security payment day for this group is always the 3rd Wednesday of the month. This means that these retirees can have a lot of control over the money. This is because by getting paid in the middle of the month, it doesn’t matter then whether the bills are at the beginning or end of the current month.
  • You always know the day you get the check. An SSA retiree always knows when he or she gets the check. In this case, we are talking about the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Disadvantages of being born between the 11th and 20th

Here are the disadvantages in this situation.

  • Overdue bills. Sometimes, bills can come at the beginning of the month. This can cause us to have overdue bills from previous months. But good planning should be enough to avoid this disadvantage.
  • Away from SSI. This payment is far from Supplemental Security Income. Social Security always sends the SSI payment on the 1st of the month, with exceptions. These payments are far apart, so we cannot combine them.

In addition to all of this, keep in mind that Social Security sends the payment on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, but that does not mean the retiree gets the money that month. Without Direct Deposit, it can take up to 3 days for the check to reach your pocket.
