What should I do now to get Social Security benefits in the future?

Can I increase my Social Security check by working after retirement?

The Social Security Administration always follows the schedule for benefit payments in the United States. If you are one of the beneficiaries who has a disability or retirement benefit, you could receive the money very soon. The element that really influences this is not the type of retirement, but a different piece of information. If you meet this requirement, your disability or retirement pension money will be available to you within the week.

In this way, you will not have to wait long to receive the amount of the December check if you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month. This payment is the first of all December payments. Therefore, for people who have a birthday on another date, they can receive the money in the following weeks. The fundamental data to control which day Social Security sends the money is the date of birth. With this information, any person can know the day of the payment.

Payments are always made on time and the Social Security Administration makes them on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. On each different day, a different group of people can receive the payment. As we have already mentioned, the first payment is due in two days, on December 14, and will be paid to people born in the first 10 days of the month. So, when do the rest of the Social Security beneficiaries receive their payments?

Social Security payment schedule in December

In December the Social Security Administration will send up to five different payments. Usually there are at least 4, but December is a bit special. In January there will be one less payment, as SSI will be paid on December 30. The calendar of Social Security payments in December is as follows:
