Throughout the year, retirees and pensioners in the United States receive their Social Security benefits in an orderly fashion. Each month has its paydays on which the Social Security Administration promptly sends a check to pensioners, whether they are disability or age-based. The only important fact in these cases is that the retiree has an accepted benefit. With that in mind, the rest is just waiting, since the retiree does not have to do anything else.
Since the Social Security calendar is always the same, it is easy to know the day a retiree receives his or her payment. And since there are also ways in which we can receive the SSA check immediately, retirees can get the benefit money automatically. However, it is true that not all retirees have access to the money on the same day, as there is a requirement to be able to do so. By having Direct Deposit activated, you will receive the check on the same day that the Social Security Administration will send it.
This is a great advantage, as it allows the senior to be more organized. However, it should also be noted that everyone will receive their benefit, regardless of the method of payment. So, whether you have Direct Deposit activated or receive your payment through your bank account, you are still in luck, as you will receive your check sooner or later. All retirees with their benefit will receive their check in different weeks of December.
Social Security Payments in the Last Month of 2022
In the last month of the year, December 2022, retirees will receive their payment on the following days of the month.
- December 14th. Second Wednesday of the month. This payment is only for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- December 21st. Third Wednesday of the month. Social Security pays the retirement benefit to seniors born between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- December 28th. Fourth Wednesday of the month. Retirees born between the 21st and 31st of any month receive their SSA check on this day.
With this calendar, it is easy to know the day we will receive our December Social Security payment.
Other SSA Payments in December
In addition to the retirement payment, Social Security also sends out other payments in December. These are two extra payments, although one of them pertains to January 2023.
These payments are on December 1 and December 30 of the same month. The first of these checks pertains to December’s Supplemental Security Income and the second is actually the first of next year’s SSI payments.
