The United States Social Security payment schedule has established rules. In this regard, it is relatively easy to know on which day of the month we are going to get the new retirement check. This is true in general, but there are exceptions that completely change a month’s payment schedule.
In the case of June we will look at two different exceptions that could cause Social Security retirees to have to change something about their financial arrangements. While it is true that the change is not really negative, that there is a change in paydays already implies that we have to be attentive to the day of the collection in question.
Social Security Changes in June 2024
In total we will see two changes in the June 2024 Social Security payment schedule. On the one hand, we will have one less check sent out by the Administration. This is because the Supplemental Security Income payment will be sent on the 31st day of May. The reason for this is very simple: June 1st is a holiday.
Knowing this we can already have in our organization that on the 31st of May we will have access to the Supplemental Security Income for June. But that is only one of the two exceptions that we will find in the whole month.
In addition, Group 3 retirees will not be able to get their benefits on June 19, because that day is a national holiday. For this reason, the Social Security Administration will send out a check on June 18th, 2024. It will be on a Tuesday and not on the third Wednesday of the month, as is customary for this type of check. All other payments are unchanged.
