Social Security beneficiaries in the United States may be in luck. Some beneficiaries in particular will be able to collect their September payment early. This will cause the check to arrive up to two days earlier for that group of Americans. What may seem insignificant may end up being a relief for many Americans.
The timing of payments can change a bit when you take into account holidays and weekends. When a Social Security payment day is a weekend or holiday, the payment is sent on the immediately preceding business day. This can be an advantage, but if we do not activate an option it becomes a disadvantage.
This is because in these cases receiving the money earlier may be possible, but we can also receive it later. It all depends on the payment method we choose. Still, not all Americans receive this check early. Some of them are not in the group of Social Security beneficiaries who get paid on the first of the month’s retirement payments.
WHO RECEIVES THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADVANCE PAYMENT?
The beneficiaries who will receive the advance payment will be only those who meet all the requirements. It is possible that the Social Security Administration will send the new check to some pensioners, but receiving the payment on time will depend on whether we meet all the requirements.
In order to receive this check on the 1st of September, we must meet the following conditions:
- Have had the Social Security benefit since before 1997.
- Cash the pensioner’s check through Direct Deposit.
Beneficiaries who meet only the first of these requirements will be able to see that the Administration will send the check earlier. But they will not be able to get the money until the following week, that is, until the 4th or 5th of September. This is because it takes about 3 days for the check to show up when we do not have Direct Deposit.
OTHER PENSIONER PAYMENTS IN SEPTEMBER
In addition to this payment on the upcoming 1st, the Social Security Administration will send out other payments in the month of September. These payments are for different groups, so check the requirements to find out on what day you will get your retirement check this coming month.
September 13th will be the next pensioner’s payment. To receive this money it is mandatory to have applied for the benefit after 1997. It is also necessary to have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
For September 20th, the first requirement is the same as the previous day. But the second requirement is different. The beneficiary’s birthday must be between the 11th and 20th of the month.
Finally, the payment on the 27th day of September will be for beneficiaries with a post-1997 benefit. In addition to that, they must also have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. This is the last September Social Security payment with respect to pensions.
