One of the big differences between SNAP Food Stamps and United States Social Security payments is the organization of the payment schedule. While Social Security checks follow a federal calendar, Food Stamps follow a state calendar. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is vital in determining on what day we get each payment.
Because it is a state calendar, each state decides at what time of the month it can send SNAP Food Stamps checks. And this is even more different when you consider that all of these States not only have a different calendar, but also different rules. In some states, all payments go out on the same day, but in other states, Food Stamps checks arrive on different days depending on the payee’s last name, among other things.
Still, it is good to keep in mind that what we are getting each month is a new benefit and, therefore, we have to have it as such. A new check means a new opportunity to buy food in our household, something we cannot refuse. So we should pay attention to the SNAP Food Stamps payment schedule because in the next week it will arrive for some states.
Which states are sending SNAP Food Stamps payments in the next week?
In order to get the SNAP Food Stamps payment we must have the benefit previously accepted. Remember that not all Americans who apply for it can get it. Likewise, we must also keep in mind that the amount is different for each American. The maximum payment for a single individual is $291 in 2024, but we will not necessarily get this large check.
Also, the more members living in a household the more Food Stamps money we will get. Although there is a limit, the truth is that it is not easy for the USDA to grant this maximum limit. Still, any help is welcome.
These are the states that may be sending checks in the next week:
- Alabama: January 4-23
- Delaware: January 2-23
- Florida: January 1-28
- Georgia: January 5-23
- Indiana: January 5-23
- Kentucky: January 1-19
- Louisiana: January 1-23
- Maryland: January 4-23
- Michigan: January 3-21
- Mississippi: January 4-21
- Missouri: January 1-22
- New Mexico: January 1-20
- North Carolina: January 3-21
- Ohio: January 2-20
- Tennessee: January 1-20
- Texas: January 1-28
- Washington: January 1-20
The states that appear on this list could send the checks in the next week. But that does not mean that in the rest of the states citizens will not get the money. It is possible that the SNAP Food Stamps may have been mailed in the days before next week, but they may arrive on the EBT card in those days.
In order to be very clear whether we have already gotten the SNAP Food Stamps money or not the best solution is to check the EBT card. If we look at the balance of the card we will know immediately how much money we will have available and, therefore, we will be able to know if we have already received this benefit.
Once we have the money available we only have to go to a participating store and use it in whatever we want to buy, as long as it is within the list of foods that we can buy. Remember that there are also some restaurants, although they are few, that allow the use of SNAP Food Stamps in their establishments.
