If you have a disability benefit prior to 1997 your Social Security check could arrive earlier in the next month

Receiving a monthly Disability benefit check is always a good thing for beneficiaries in the United States. Thanks to this Social Security system, citizens with some type of disability can have monthly money to pay bills, make purchases and much more.

The schedule of payments for these benefits always follows the same schedule. However, that schedule is not 100% fixed and sometimes we encounter certain irregularities that cause the check to arrive a little earlier or a little later.

The most common in these cases is that the Social Security payment, whether for disability or not, arrives earlier. This is because the Social Security Administration sets up the payments so that they never arrive too late to your beneficiaries.

In addition to that, the Social Security Administration sends out checks on different days during the month. This is so that there is no bank backlog and all beneficiaries get their payments on time. In total there are usually up to 4 different payments in a single month.

Each of these payments is for a different group of retirees. The first check every month for disability retirees is for those with a pre-1997 benefit. And in the month of June this could be even earlier.

How to receive the June disability payment earlier?

The first thing to keep in mind is that our retirement must be pre-1997. The group of disability retirees who meet these characteristics already have half of the requirements fulfilled. After that, we must take into account another requirement related to the method of payment.

In this case we must activate Direct Deposit if we want to have the check in advance. Thanks to this way of receiving Social Security payments on the same day 2nd of June we will be able to use the money on whatever we need.

And it doesn’t matter what type of benefit we have. That is, if we have an old age pension, the requirements are the same. The only important thing is to have an accepted benefit prior to 1997 and activate Direct Deposit.

With this in mind we must look at the calendar carefully. If we look closely the Social Security Administration will send out the check on the 2nd day. This day will be Friday, which means there is a weekend right after.

Therefore, if we do not have Direct Deposit activated it is possible that we will receive the check on the following Monday or Tuesday. This will mean that we will not receive the disability payment until the 5th or 6th day of the month.
