The stimulus check from the Social Security Administration is a really useful payment for beneficiaries in the United States. And that is that this payment adds a little bit to the benefits that United States citizens get each month. So it is a good supplemental payment to the retirement benefit, whether it is for Disability or for some other reason.
Similarly, it is not mandatory to be retired to get this other stimulus check. Therefore, we find that if we meet certain requirements we will be able to get this extra payment of $943 from Social Security without the need to be retired. This makes life much easier for thousands of United States citizens.
In fact, there are many United States citizens who have access to this payment who do not apply for it because they do not know they are eligible. That is why it is so important to know at all times what benefits the Social Security Administration sends each month and what conditions we have to meet in order to get them. We are sure that on more than one occasion we have received a surprise in the form of a stimulus check.
How to get two Social Security checks in February 2024?
There are many types of benefits for United States citizens, but the Social Security Administration mainly sends out two different checks. One of these checks is retirement. And within the retirement payments we find Disability, Widow’s, or Age Disability checks.
On the other hand, the second check is the stimulus check we are talking about. This extra check is known as Supplemental Security Income. And it is thanks to this payment that thousands of Americans can get up to $943 more each month. So if you are entitled to this benefit, it is advisable to apply for it and enjoy more money every month.
In order to get two Social Security checks, you must meet several requirements:
- Supplemental Security Income. The requirements for this benefit are to be 65 years of age or older or have a disability, as well as low monthly income.
- Have an accepted retirement benefit. The type of retirement benefit does not matter. It also doesn’t matter how much we get or what day we cash the check.
Only then will we get the two monthly checks, one from Social Security Retirement and one that will be the corresponding stimulus check, i.e., Supplemental Security Income.
When will we get each SSA payment?
These payments will arrive in January on different days of the month. The schedule that the Social Security Administration follows to send us these payments is more or less the same each month. So if you have a benefit you may already know what day of the month you will have access to the payment.
For one thing, the Supplemental Security Income check, the stimulus check mentioned above, is on the 1st of February. This is the norm for this type of benefit, so there is no irregularity in this regard.
On the other hand we find that Social Security retirement will come on the 2nd, 14th, 21st or 28th depending on the day we were born and the year of retirement. If we happen to have both benefits accepted we will get checks on different days. It is not common to get two payments on the same day, although it is possible if an irregularity in the calendar causes the dates to coincide.
