When a new month begins the Social Security Administration announces the schedule of payments for that month. In this regard, the month of April is about to begin for United States citizens. And in the first week we will see two new checks sent out by the Administration.
This makes it so that any retiree who meets the requirements can have the payment soon. Well, any not, since you have to have some requirements set in place to get the next of the retirement payments. But with just one requirement we will be able to get the first of the April Social Security retirement payments.
This new payment will be on April 3rd, but before that day there is a Supplemental Security Income payment. So if you have a retirement benefit and an activated Supplemental Security Income check you could enjoy two totally different payments in less than 7 days.
That said, we need to pay attention to the full Social Security payment schedule for April to be clear on when we will be collecting our benefit. The good thing about this is that it is easy to understand if we belong to one group or another, so we can quickly find out when we will have the money available.
Full Social Security schedule in April 2024
And there’s no better way to find out when we’ll get our Social Security payment in 2024 than by checking the full calendar. This full schedule includes not only the four retirement payments, but also an extra Supplemental Security Income payment.
Here are the April Social Security payment days and the requirements to get them:
- April 1st. Supplemental Security Income payments. All recipients of this payment get check on the same day.
- April 3rd. Any Social Security retiree with a pre-May 1997 benefit gets their check on this day.
- April 10th. In order to be eligible for collection on this day it is necessary to have payment from after May 1997, as well as the birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- April 17th. It is mandatory to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month and to have Social Security as of May 1997.
- April 24th. The last payment day of the month is for retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st, plus a retirement check as of May 1997.
Still, remember that having Direct Deposit causes the Social Security payment to appear immediately in our checking account. Those who do not have this activated will not get the payment on the same day it is sent, but it will appear in the checking account a few days earlier.
