If you are expecting to get one of these benefits in November there is some bad news you are going to get. There are no more payments in November, so you’ll have to wait until December to count on one of these Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks.
WHEN WILL THE NEW SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME (SSI) PAYMENT ARRIVE?
We will not get a new payment until December 1st. In the month of November we have had a payment of this check, but it is necessary to point out that the Social Security Administration sent it on November 1st. Therefore, if you still do not have the payment today, it is possible that you will have to claim it.
In addition to all of this we should also keep in mind that in December we will have not 1 but 2 different Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks. This second check will arrive because of a calendar irregularity in January 2024. On December 29th, Americans with Supplemental Security Income and Direct Deposit will enjoy an extra check.
It is also important to note that this second check in December will include the 2024 COLA. Therefore, the maximum amount will not be $914, but $943. And that amount will be maintained throughout 2024 for each Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment.
REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME
In case we are thinking that we can claim the SSI payment it is important to look at what the requirements are. Thousands of United States citizens who are eligible for this check do not apply for it because they do not know they can.
The requirements to obtain this monthly benefit are twofold:
- Be 65 years of age or older or have a disability.
- Have a low monthly income.
