New SSI payment finally arrives: just a few hours to collect $914 in Social Security payments

SSI recipients will receive their next payment on November 1, after having received their last payment on September 29. Benefits, as a general rule, are scheduled to be delivered exclusively on the first day of each month, however, in the event that October 1, falling on a holiday or weekend, beneficiaries were paid on the preceding business day.

Beginning November 1, the remaining monthly payments for 2023 will be issued on December 1 and 29. This year, the maximum amount an SSI recipient can receive is $914, or $1,371 for a qualifying married couple. The standard payment is set at $550.

Meanwhile, most states and territories have increased benefits to a maximum of $120.

Who will receive the SSI payment?

Social Security has scheduled a one-time payment of up to $914 for this November. Beneficiaries from different states will receive a specific amount in the form of financial help issued by the public agency, which allocates part of its budget to this type of monetary injections to citizens who meet certain requirements.

This check corresponds to the direct payments section of the Supplemental Security Income program, which, according to what has been communicated, is expected to be issued at the beginning of this month. In order to have access to the full amount, the first step is for the individual to file his or her annual tax return individually.

In the case of filing as a couple, the amount would be restricted to a maximum of $1,371 dollars, shared by both parties. On the other hand, the so-called essential persons (living with someone who benefits from Social Security payments and are dependent on that person) would be eligible for a check of up to $458.

Main requirements to apply for the payment

On this occasion, the main condition to apply for the November check is to be at least 65 years old and to meet certain specific requirements regarding economic income in relation to the family nucleus. There are certain exceptions for those over 65 with a physical or mental disability that limits their work activity.

In the case of children, all those with physical, visual or mental disabilities may apply for the payment, as long as their parents are not Social Security beneficiaries and also meet the specific conditions that qualify them as low-income persons.
