In the next few days, thousands of United States citizens may receive a new Social Security check. Whether they get it depends on the recipient’s personal information and the official payment schedule. Although the government will not be sending out new payments in January, retirees can get a new check if they meet certain requirements.
New payments will also arrive next week, but this time they will be because the Social Security Administration sent them. Next February’s calendar is about to start, and on the first of the month, the Administration will start the month’s payments. So if you qualify, you could be getting at least one of these next three payments in the mail.
If you do not receive one of these checks, you have nothing to worry about. Just accepting the annuity is enough to enjoy a new payment each month. But what we have to control, if we want to organize our economy in the best possible way, is the exact day on which we receive the benefit.
And to do that, controlling what day of the month we get our Social Security check is fundamental. So if we look at the calendar and the payment days and their requirements, we will be able to have everything under control and therefore have a higher standard of living.
Who gets their Social Security check in the last days of January?
As we discussed above, the last of the January retirement checks have already left the offices of the Social Security Administration. However, some Americans have not yet received them. And it is this group that will be able to enjoy the check in these final days of January.
While it is true that most checks have already arrived in checking accounts, it is also true that many Americans still have a chance to get it if they do not already have the money available. Only Group 4 retirees who have not activated Direct Deposit can still wait for the check. This means that only then do they have a chance to receive the payment of up to $4,873 these days.
To be in Group 4, we must meet two requirements. The first is to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. The other requirement is to have had Social Security since after 1997. This is the only way we can get the money in the last days of the month. The check was mailed by the Administration on January 24, and whether or not it was received depends on the collection method that was activated.
Other upcoming pension payments in February
In addition to this January 24th payment, the Social Security Administration will send up to two different checks to beneficiaries in the United States next week. One is for retirees, but you do not need to have filed for retirement to receive the other.
February 1 is Supplemental Security Income payment day. To receive this monthly check, you must be 65 or older or have a disability. Likewise, it is also mandatory to have low resources and low monthly income.
Similarly, February 2 will be the day on which pre-1997 retirees can get their Social Security. This group will receive the payment one day earlier than usual, as the regular day for these payments is the 3rd. The reason for the earlier payment is that the 3rd is a weekend.
