Social Security disability payments arrive each month to your beneficiaries. Whether or not you receive one of these checks depends on the situation of each United States citizen. If you have one of the accepted disability benefits, the next Social Security payment could be for you. You just have to match the selection criteria.
The Social Security Administration divides retirees into different groups. Each of these groups receives on a different day of the month their disability or age retirement check. All other reasons for retirement are also included in these groups. There is no difference in the type of retirement, but the criteria for forming the groups is different.
Therefore, it does not matter whether our check is for disability or for some other reason. We will receive the next Social Security payment as long as we meet the established requirements. And if we add to that the possibility of receiving the money from the Social Security check immediately, the economic organization at home will be much easier. Are you receiving the next disability payment in May?
Recipients of the last disability payment for May 2023
Recipients who want to receive the final May 2023 Social Security disability check must meet two requirements. However, there is nothing to worry about if these two requirements are not met. Retirees who do not meet these criteria still receive a check.
What’s more, since this is the last disability benefit payment for May, the rest of the beneficiaries should already have the money in their pocket. If you are not within this group and do not have your pensioner’s money, claim the payment as soon as possible.
The main requirements to get this check from Social Security are twofold:
- Having a birthday between the 21st and 31st. The group of beneficiaries who have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month are entitled to the benefit of the last remittance of the month. This usually occurs on the fourth Wednesday of the month, with very few exceptions. In the month of May there are no exceptions to this. However, this is not the only requirement that must be met.
- To have the benefit after 1997. Only retirees who have their birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month and have applied for retirement after 1997 can have this check. This is essential, since retirees prior to 1997 receive the check on a different day.
Upcoming Social Security Payments
After this payment, the Social Security Administration will send out new disability payments in June. In total, there will be 6 different payments for the month of June. On each of those days the Administration will send a different check to a different group of retirees and beneficiaries.
On the one hand we have the Supplemental Security Income payments. This check is for the most needy citizens. The mailing of this payment will be on two different days, since the July SSI check will be sent earlier. The mailing days for these payments are June 1st and June 30th.
On the other hand we have the usual Social Security payments. For pre-1997 retirees the check will arrive on the 2nd of the month. The 3rd day of the month is a holiday in June. Finally, post-1997 retirees will receive their benefit on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month, depending on their birthday.
