Those United States citizens who have an Age Retirement or Social Security Disability benefit need to take a good look at the June payment schedule. The United States Government has made some changes to this schedule and there are exceptions to the general rule.
Thus, some of the Americans do get the payment as usual, but many others will not get the payment as usual, but on a different day. Anyway, it is true that the change is not worrisome, since in reality those beneficiaries can get the payment even earlier.
Social Security payment schedule in June 2024
While it is usual for the Social Security Administration to send five different checks to Americans in a month, only four checks will go out from the Administration’s offices in June. Even so, all Americans will get their corresponding payments for the month without any problems or worries.
The best thing to do in these cases is to mark the collection day for each group on the calendar. For the Supplemental Security Income group, the June check leaves the offices on May 31st. Thus, this advance payment will arrive a few days earlier to beneficiaries in the United States.
On the other hand, the rest of the payments will depend on the group of retirees to which we belong. Group 1 will receive their check on June 3rd. Group 2 will get their benefit on June 12th. Group 3 retirees will receive their payment on June 18th. Finally, Group 4 will get their benefit on June 26th.
The reason for the different schedule is that June 19th, the third Wednesday of the month, is a holiday. Also, June 1st is a weekend, which causes the Social Security Administration to send out the Supplemental Security Income check on the immediately preceding business day.
Which Social Security group does each retiree belong to?
As mentioned above, each retiree belongs to a different group and, in addition, each retiree group collects on a different day. Thus, the beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income group are all those with this benefit. There are no exceptions.
But, on the other hand, Group 1 retirees are those who have had a check since before May 1997. Thus, Group 2 beneficiaries are those retirees with Social Security since after May 1997 and birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month.
The latter two groups also have a benefit since after May 1997. However, they must also take into account two other aspects. To be in group 3, it is also necessary to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month. Finally, group 4 requires a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month of the year.
