With a very close United States tax season coming to an end, the IRS reminds us of the possibility of receiving help with the Tax Return. This help is often very useful in order to be able to submit our paperwork without any errors that can spoil everything related to the Tax Refund.

At the end of the day, the ultimate goal of sending the IRS our Tax Return on time and well done is to get the Tax Refund as soon as possible. Any error in sending in the Tax Return can mean a delay in the IRS stimulus check. We may even face an outright denial of the Tax Refund if those errors are not corrected.

And one of the biggest mistakes Americans make when it comes to submitting the Tax Return is related to math. Since we have to do the math ourselves, it is possible that we make mistakes. But that does not happen with this option offered by the IRS, and we can check for free everything related to mathematics and avoid mistakes.

How to avoid mathematical errors in the IRS Tax Return?

While it is true that there is a program that helps us to correct mathematical errors in our IRS Tax Return, it is not for all citizens. Only Americans who have an income below a certain threshold can access this useful system. The specific threshold is $73,000 or less. This figure is annual, so if you earn less than that per year you will be able to use this system.

The system that the IRS makes available to Americans is Free File. With Free File we can send our documents without any errors, at least in the math section. It is very useful to speed up the process of sending the Tax Return on time.

Until when can I send the Tax Return?

Remember that Tax Season has a deadline. The last day to send our documentation to the IRS without any problems for us is April 18th. If we do not send our Tax Return before that date, we may have penalties and fines. Even so, we could also ask for an extension of time, although this does not exist for all citizens.

Sending the Tax Return as soon as possible makes that we can enjoy the Tax Refund earlier. So don’t forget that you have until April 18th to do it. And don’t forget that sending your documents without errors will speed up the process a lot.

In case you get an extension of time, you will be able to send your Tax Return to the IRS until October. However, this extension of time is not for everyone and only one group of citizens could finally get it. Don’t count on it and send your documentation as soon as possible.
