United States citizens who have their Social Security benefit accepted should look at the conditions of the new payment, as it could be for them. Only one requirement must be met to get this new retirement check in just a few hours.
The first of the Social Security payments will arrive this very week for United States citizens who have had a check accepted from before a particular year. The rest of the retirees should not worry, since they will get the payment for the month as well. What we do need to look at is the requirements for each of the payment days.
Who can get the new Social Security payment in May?
May 3rd will be the day on which the Social Security Administration will send the new retirement payment to the beneficiaries. But there is one requirement that must be met in order to get a check on that day. The only requirement is to have the benefit since before May 1997.
Only in this way will we be able to enjoy this new retirement payment. In case we have activated Direct Deposit, the check will arrive on the same day to the current account. Those beneficiaries who do not have Direct Deposit activated will receive the money within a few days after it is sent.
Other Social Security Payments in May
In addition to this, Social Security beneficiaries can get their May benefit on one of the other payment days. In total, the Administration will send out 6 different checks in May due to a calendar irregularity. To find out when we will have the payment available we just need to look at the terms of each day.
The Social Security payment days in May are:
- May 1st. Supplemental Security Income.
- May 3rd. Pre-May 1997 Retiree Benefit.
- May 8th. Post-May 1997 retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th collect on this day.
- May 15th. Post-May 1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th receive collection on this day.
- May 22nd. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and 31st are paid on this day.
- May 31st. The Social Security Administration sends June Supplemental Security Income early on this day.
Remember, activating Direct Deposit means you get the money immediately. If we do not activate this collection method, it will take about three days for the money to arrive. What is certain is that the Social Security Administration will send checks on the days listed on this calendar.
