Getting a monthly Social Security check in the United States is a relief. And is that many families live directly from the retirement or Disability benefit payment that the Administration sends each month.
Therefore, it is true that many Americans can collect one of these benefits, so whenever we can apply for them we should do so. In that case, we will have one of the new benefits every month, whether it is for Disability, retirement due to age or for any other reason.
And while it is true that in order to collect the Disability payment on April 3rd we need to meet two requirements, the type of retirement has no bearing on the day of payment. So it does not matter if our check is for retirement due to age or for any other reason.
However, we must meet all the mandatory requirements. Otherwise, the Social Security Administration will not send us the new check, but we will have to wait for a different day in order to collect the Disability benefit.
Which Americans get the April 3rd Disability check?
In order to get this payment from Social Security we are going to have to meet two mandatory requirements. One of these requirements is partially optional, since only by fulfilling one of them we will have a disability check in the next few days.
The indispensable and mandatory requirement is none other than having the Social Security benefit since before May 1997. If we have had the check since before this month, this will make us part of group 1 of retirees. And this group collects on the 3rd day of each month, with some exceptions.
The other requirement is to have Direct Deposit activated. When we say that this requirement is mandatory to collect on April 3rd it is because if we have another collection method it means that we will have the money a few days later.
It is important to keep this in mind, since without Direct Deposit the Administration will send us the Disability check on April 3rd, but we will not get it until three or four days later.
