In just 48 hours United States Social Security beneficiaries can get the new retirement payment. To do so, they must belong to a specific group of beneficiaries. Not just any American can get the payment even if they have their retirement accepted.
So before making plans with the retirement money we should check if we can really get check on this day or not. In order to get the first of the Social Security payments in 2023 we must meet only one requirement. If we meet it, the money will arrive in our checking account very soon.
If not, there is nothing to worry about. The money will arrive equally for all beneficiaries who have the benefit accepted. The only difference is that they will get the payment later, so they will have to wait a few more days to get the money.
Whatever we do and whichever group of Social Security retirees we belong to, we will still get the payment in January. The payment schedule is already set and we will be able to know when we will have the payment in our pocket by checking the mailing days.
WHICH GROUP WILL GET THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY IN 48 HOURS?
In order to collect the first benefit of the year 2024 in 48 hours we must meet two requirements. One of these requirements is related to the year of retirement and the other is related to the collection method chosen to get that benefit.
Thus, these are the two requirements:
- Have a Social Security benefit prior to 1997. This means that the payment of the benefit is always made on the first payment day of the month. In this case, the day is January 3, 2024.
- Activate Direct Deposit as a payment method. This method is the fastest of all and makes the retirement money appear instantly in our pocket.
This is the only way we can get the payment without having to wait a single day for it. As soon as the Social Security Administration sends the check, it is available to us, so we can spend it on whatever we need.
After that payment will come three more payments. These other three payments will arrive on January 10th, 17th and 24th. Each day will be a payment for different groups of retirees. If you have a benefit since after 1997 you will receive it on one of these days, but getting it earlier or later will depend on your birthday.
