Although Social Security Disability payments have a date marked on the calendar and any United States citizen can get this information in advance, it is possible that checks may arrive a little later than usual. This is most often due to various irregularities in the calendar. Although the calendar follows a general rule, there are some months where this may be different.
The day the month begins can affect when we receive the check. This can cause the Social Security Disability payment to arrive even earlier. But in this case, we have to look at the payments for three groups of retirees because they will get their benefit a week later than they are used to.
The advantage of all this is that we know exactly how the calendar works, so we can get ahead of these delays. Since we know very well in which month we will get the payment later, we can also make our monthly budget based on this information. Because of this, even if we get a disability check a little later, we will not have any problems with our finances.
When will Social Security disability benefits come in February?
There is one thing to keep in mind about the February Social Security disability schedule. That is that the month begins on a Thursday. This means that payments for post-1997 retirees will arrive a little later than usual.
And that is the main reason why we need to be more organized this month. If we are used to these retirees receiving their benefit in the second week of the month, this will change in February. It is not until the third week that we will see the first of the three checks that the Social Security Administration will send to this group of beneficiaries.
So mark these days on your calendar if your check is after 1997, because these are the days when you will be able to collect your disability benefit:
- February 14th. Third week of the month. On this day, post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th will collect.
- February 21st. Fourth week of the month. On this day, post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th are paid.
- February 28th. Fifth week of February. Any post-1997 disability beneficiary with a birthday between the 21st and 31st can collect on this date.
As you can see, the last of the group will have to wait until the last week of February to get this Social Security Disability check. Although it may seem that there is not much time to wait, the truth is that beneficiaries with these characteristics can have many economic problems if they do not organize all their finances in advance.
Remember that it is not necessary to have a disability benefit to receive these checks. Any retiree can get the payment if he/she meets the above characteristics. So check the calendar and organize your finances according to the day in February when you will receive your Social Security benefit.
