Stimulus checks came to all United States after the pandemic era. The idea of these IRS stimulus checks was to provide some relief to American homes. In most homes they already enjoy this cash back, but there is a possibility that many United States citizens have not yet received one of these checks.

In the State of California they are still sending stimulus checks to some households. Likewise, the rest of the states have already finished sending this money. However, regardless of which state we live in, we may have some delay with the check. It is unusual for a person entitled to a stimulus check not to have received it, but there may be a possibility that the check may be lost.

For this reason it is not common to claim one of these stimulus checks, but this does not mean that it cannot be done. Until not too long ago, there was the possibility to claim the payment through Get My Payment, but it is no longer available because the campaign has ended. Still, we can contact the IRS for any related issues.

Claiming Stimulus Checks from the IRS

There is one main way to contact the IRS. Through the IRS telephone number 800-829-1040. By calling this number they can help us with assistance in resolving any type of error. In case they cannot help us directly, they can redirect us to the right place, so if you have any doubts, the best thing to do is to call.

On the other hand, it is also possible to go to a local office. It is easy to find the nearest IRS office where you can claim your lost stimulus check. Any of the offices are equally valid to apply for help. But it is necessary in most cases to make an appointment beforehand. So if you prefer a direct contact you can try calling ahead to request an appointment.

Who can receive these checks?

Only people who have not received a stimulus check can receive one. Although the United States Government has sent out many checks, most citizens are not eligible to receive any extra checks. If you have filed your income tax return and paid your taxes on time, you may be eligible for one of these checks.

If you think you qualify for one but don’t have one, then file a claim with the IRS. This is the most direct way to make sure everything is in order. You may not be entitled to one of these checks but think you are, so it’s best to be sure before you count on this money.
