The first of the payments that the United States Social Security Administration will send in October is very close. In just a few days, beneficiaries who meet a single requirement will be able to collect their retirement or disability pension. In this way, Social Security beneficiaries will be able to have the money available in their bank account immediately with the activation of Direct Deposit.
However, not all Social Security payments will be sent on this day. Only a group of beneficiaries will have this benefit available on this day. If you were born between the 1st and 10th of any month, the 12th day of October is the payment day for you. Otherwise, you will have to wait a bit, as you will receive it in the next few weeks.
Social Security Payments in October
The month of October has only 3 Social Security payment days. As a general rule, there are 4 days when the SSA sends money to your beneficiaries. But one of those payments is SSI, which is not sent in October. This is because the payment of this benefit is always made on the 1st of the month unless it is a holiday or weekend. Since October 1st was a weekend, the SSA sent the money for this payment on the immediately preceding business day. In this case, it was September 30.
The rest of the payments from the Social Security Administration for the month of October will be made on the following days:
- October 12th: The first payment of the month. This payment is for persons born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- October 19th: The second social security payment of the month. For persons born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- October 26th: Third and final SSA payment in October. On this day the payment check is for people born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
SSA sends the payment on these days, but that does not mean you will receive it immediately. Only beneficiaries who have activated Direct Deposit will receive a same-day pension payment. Otherwise, it may take up to 3 days for the Social Security check to arrive in your bank account.
If you have problems with late payments, contacting SSA online is the best way, as it is easy, free and fast. Although you need a fundamental requirement to be able to do so, it is worth fulfilling it to speed up the process of any kind of claim.
