No one doubts that today’s Medicare services are a great help for retirees in the United States. And not only for retirees because of their age, but also for those who have a disability. The important thing in these cases is to have access to Medicare regardless of which of its variants we have.
Within Medicare we find up to 4 different parts. Each of these parts works in a different way. As a general rule, what we find when we apply for this medical help is Part A and Part B. These two parts grant a great series of benefits that work as a package of services.
However, there are two other parts of Medicare that are also really useful. And the last of these parts, Part D, works wonders for those who have to buy drugs every month. And a case in point for these citizens is those who are diabetic. Being diabetic, citizens need insulin, which is very expensive if not purchased under Medicare Part D.
Who can get Medicare benefits?
Thanks to Medicare we are going to find many citizens who can have access to medications that they did not have before. And in this case we are talking about citizens who need insulin. The price of insulin is very high as a general rule, but thanks to Part D we are not going to have to pay more than 35 dollars a month.
#DYK people with Medicare Part D (drug coverage) now pay no more than $35 for a one-month supply of covered insulin? Roy in Wisconsin went from paying $250/month on his insulin prescription to just $35/month. Hear Roy’s story: https://t.co/7yjpIPSgdy https://t.co/KASqKPTERv

We must keep in mind that this is only for those who have contracted Medicare Part D. There is no reduction for citizens who only have parts A and B. Americans with these parts have access to other medical services, but not to help paying for insulin.
Eligibility to apply for medical help in 2023
Any citizen who meets one of the two requirements will be able to apply for Medicare. After starting to use Medicare services, the United States citizen will be able to enjoy all the advantages it can offer. Therefore, there is no doubt that starting to use these services is one of the best decisions to make.
Citizens who want to apply for Medicare must:
- Be 65 years of age or older.
- Have a disability.
In addition to that, it is also mandatory to have worked several years contributing to Social Security. However, it is not mandatory to have applied for Social Security benefits in order to use Medicare. This is a widely held belief, but it is not required.
What is possible is to combine these two services together. That is, retirement with a Social Security check and the use of Medicare. If we can apply for both at the same time we will get many discounts. In the case of waiting until age 65 to apply for Social Security, it will give us the comfort of not having to pay for many medical expenses.
